Effective Safety and Health Training is important to ensure employees have an understanding of workplace hazards. Our MSHA courses are designed to focus Mine Safety, our focus is to help companies working in Surface Metal/Non-Metal, Coal and Sand and Gravel pits. Your employees can sign up for any of our training courses held at our facility in Utah or we can bring the training to your company Nation Wide.
This MSHA training course covers all aspects of the annual health and safety training requirements for owners, operators, and miners under 30 CFR Part 48 for metal/non-metal/coal surface miners. Students will receive their MSHA 5000-23 form upon completion. Participants must provide proof of New Miner Training or Previous Annual Refresher Training completed within the last 5 years.
Upon completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of basic crane and rigging practices. Topics include inspection, calculations, set up, and controls. This course can be used for either overhead, mobile cranes or both.
This course meets MSHA requirements for the theory/classroom instruction for forklift operation. Topics covered in this course include safe operation, loading and unloading, pre-shift inspections, and worksite inspections. This covers Class 1-7 forklifts for both general industry and construction industries. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a card certifying that the training has been completed. It is the employer's responsibility to conduct the onsite evaluation and designate authorized operators. SMTS personnel can conduct onsite observations upon request for an additional fee. Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend this training.
This course provides participants with a basic understanding of aerial work platform operation for both scissor lifts and /or boom lifts. This course has both theory-based training as well as a hands-on evaluation with a certificate of completion issued upon successful completion of the course. This course meets the new ANSI A92.24-2018 Theory Requirements. Onsite evaluations and hands-on training available upon request for an additional fee.
This course supplies participants with the most up-to-date CPR and AED training. Upon completion, students will receive a CPR Certification valid for two years through the American Red Cross. We offer a full classroom or blended course option.
This course meets MSHA training requirements for affected users that are required to isolate equipment for repair, maintenance or installation. Upon completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of their roles and responsibilities when assigned a task that requires energy isolation.
This course meets MSHA training requirements for affected users of fall protection. Upon completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of their roles and responsibilities when assigned a task that requires fall protection. This course covers, proper selection and use, daily inspections, when and how to use fall protection, and employer responsibilities.
Upon completion of this course you will have the skills and knowledge to be a qualified "Entry supervisor" with the means to be the person responsible for determining if acceptable entry conditions are present at a permit space where entry is planned, for authorizing entry and overseeing entry operations, and for terminating entry as required by this section.
This course will provide the training to properly assess the work environment for confined spaces.
We provide a hands-on training program that covers both the theory behind fires and the use of fire extinguishers. We have several training tools from virtual fires to live-fire training.
This course covers the basic requirements for Personal Protective Use in the workplace, this course covers the selection, use and training requirements as well as how to conduct a PPE hazard assessment and certification.
